An Afghan refugee has been taken into custody after allegedly attacking and repeatedly stabbing his caseworker at the victim’s residence in Orion Township, Michigan. The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon when authorities received an emergency call about a violent assault.
According to Oakland County law enforcement, the victim, who works for an organization supporting Afghan refugees in their resettlement process, sustained multiple stab wounds during the attack. The suspect reportedly managed to locate the caseworker’s private residence in the rural Michigan community before carrying out the assault.

Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard provided details about the incident through his social media channels, stating, “Deputies in Orion Township responded to a 911 call for a male subject who had been stabbed multiple times. The suspect fled the scene in his vehicle. The investigation revealed that the suspect is an Afghanistan refugee and the victim is a caseworker for a company that assists refugees. The suspect is in custody, and there is no indication that anyone else is involved or any danger to the community. The victim is in surgery with very serious multiple stab wounds. More information will follow as the case is investigated.”
The attack took place near the intersection of Red Root Road and E. Silverbell Road at approximately 2 PM. The victim was rushed to a local hospital where he remains in serious condition following surgery for his injuries.

Sheriff Bouchard, who has been actively involved in addressing crime issues in Oakland County, has recently been focusing on combating organized criminal activities in the area. His department has established a specialized task force targeting Venezuelan and Chilean gangs responsible for burglarizing upscale residences throughout Oakland County.
