Representative Pete Sessions delivered a message of unity and responsibility during a recent “Saturday Agenda” appearance, emphasizing the American public’s role in preserving the nation’s values and highlighting Republican obligations following their electoral success.
As the 119th Congress approaches, Sessions underscored the critical responsibility facing his party. “Let us get this right, and that is: Americans saved America,” Sessions said. “Now Republicans have an obligation, a duty, and an obligation to make sure we deliver. I expect us to do it.”
Had a great conversation with @HARRISFAULKNER @FoxNews about two critical issues: securing our borders and restoring efficiency to our government. The Texas Representative addressed the upcoming House speaker election, expressing his support for current Speaker Mike Johnson. “That will be at least beginning with our speaker, Mike Johnson. Mike Johnson is our speaker now,” he said. “It does us no good to go into this kind of fight at the time we’re trying to elect a speaker and determine that we will be in the majority is just too darn close.”
When discussing potential opposition to Johnson’s leadership, specifically regarding Rep. Tom Massie’s position, Sessions offered a diplomatic response. “Well, I think that I know Tom Massie. Tom Massie is really a good man. He’s a team player,” Sessions said. “He would also be smart enough to recognize that the successful rain dance has a lot to do with timing, and that is very simply, that’s the day we’ll do it.”
Sessions expressed optimism about the party’s future, particularly with Republicans gaining control of the Senate for the first time in four years. He emphasized the importance of maintaining party cohesion and suggested postponing any internal disputes until after the 2024 presidential election.

Addressing the challenges of party unity, Sessions remarked, “It is relatively simple to get rid of someone when it’s down to literally an even number, but it is hard to evidently work together,” Sessions noted. “And that is what I think the American people want, and I think Donald Trump would want that also.”
He concluded with a call for cooperation, stating, “We need to work together. We need to then, if we’re going to have a fight, let’s worry about it after Donald Trump becomes president, not before.”
