StopAntisemitism, a prominent watchdog organization, has awarded controversial commentator Candace Owens their “Antisemite of the Year” designation, noting she received unprecedented voting numbers compared to previous recipients.

Liora Rez, StopAntisemitism’s founder, told The Post, “Candace Owens’ witch’s brew of antisemitism drew from vile medieval blood libels, including claims that Jews drink Christian blood, conspiracies that Jews are pedophiles who control the media and are ‘taking over America,’ and modern toxic anti-Israel hysteria.”

The organization’s previous recipients include Representative Rashida Tlaib, rapper Ye (formerly Kanye West), and Representative Ilhan Omar. The group highlighted Owens’ controversial statements, particularly her defense of Ye’s antisemitic remarks and her criticism of Israel following the October 7 attacks.

“Jew-hatred is a symptom of a decaying society just as it is a rotting mind,” Rez stated. “This dishonor is awarded to the individual who has done the most to endanger the Jewish community, and in 2024, Candace Owens has tragically and decisively earned the title.”

When previously confronted about her nomination, Owens deflected criticism by suggesting Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu should have been considered instead, citing Palestinian deaths.

The announcement follows Owens’ departure from The Daily Wire in March, amid tensions with co-founder Ben Shapiro regarding her positions on Israel and her engagement with antisemitic content on social media. Her exit coincided with public disagreements over her response to Hamas’s October attack.

Rez emphasized that while Owens has lost support from former allies, her case serves as a warning about the dangers of antisemitism in society. Since leaving The Daily Wire, Owens has continued broadcasting independently, generating controversy with statements questioning Holocaust narratives and facing international travel restrictions, including temporary visa denials from Australia and New Zealand.
