At least a dozen people fell victim to shootings, with one death reported, during a violent period from Friday to Saturday night in Chicago under Mayor Brandon Johnson’s administration.
According to ABC 7’s coverage, the fatal incident claimed the life of a 68-year-old man, who was discovered in the early hours of Saturday around 3:25 a.m. on South May Street’s 8400 block.

The incident came to light when someone who heard gunfire investigated the scene, discovering the elderly victim on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds and showing no signs of life.
Just the previous weekend, Chicago experienced similar violence, with Breitbart News documenting 16 shooting victims, including two fatalities, from Friday through Sunday morning.
More violence struck the city Tuesday when Raylon East, 36, allegedly committed a shooting at Chicago’s Navy Pier using a 9mm firearm, taking the lives of two former colleagues.
“East had been fired Oct. 14 from his job at the pier, which features shops, restaurants, entertainment and its iconic Ferris wheel along Lake Michigan,” as reported by The Associated Press.
