On Sunday, Tesla CEO Elon Musk and other American business leaders met with Chinese Vice President Han Zheng in Washington D.C., according to a Monday report from China’s official Xinhua news agency.

During the meeting, Han expressed China’s openness to Tesla and other American businesses, encouraging them to take advantage of opportunities in China’s market. The Vice President emphasized the importance of these companies’ contributions to strengthening economic and trade relationships between China and the United States.

The meeting took place during Han’s visit to Washington D.C., where he is representing Chinese President Xi Jinping at the U.S. presidential inauguration. Han’s presence comes after President-elect Donald Trump extended an invitation to Xi Jinping following his election victory last year.
