During Friday’s MSNBC broadcast of “The Last Word,” Democratic Representative Gwen Moore from Wisconsin weighed in on Elon Musk’s recent influence in government funding discussions, expressing significant concerns about his role in shaping presidential decisions.

The conversation began when host Ali Velshi highlighted how recent events transcended mere economic management, touching on broader governance issues that Republicans have struggled with, particularly in light of Musk’s involvement.

Rep. Moore voiced her apprehension, stating, “We were very, very concerned, and are still very concerned about this non-elected, non-citizen immigrant basically running the presidency.” She continued by pointing out that “And he came in — and as your earlier guest pointed out — one of the first things that he did is he took out the provision that would have restricted a lot of activity with the Chinese around tech industries, who is that going to benefit? Elon Musk.”

The discussion took an informative turn when Velshi clarified an important detail about Musk’s citizenship status, noting that he is actually a naturalized American citizen.
