This abrupt reversal comes after Kennedy suspended his presidential campaign and endorsed President Donald Trump, a move that threatens Vice President Kamala Harris’ chances by uniting conservative voters.
In North Carolina, the Board of Elections appealed a court decision that removed Kennedy’s name from the ballot. This ruling halted the mailing of absentee ballots until new versions without Kennedy’s name could be printed. However, Democrats, sensing the potential for vote-splitting, are now appealing the decision to keep him on the ballot.
Kennedy initially planned to remove himself from ballots in swing states like Arizona and Pennsylvania to help Trump, but he has since called on voters across all states to support Trump. This has led Democrats, who previously saw him as a threat, to change course in an effort to use his presence to weaken Trump’s vote count in critical states.
“The Democrat Party, which was suing us to keep us off the ballot in those states, is now suing us to force us to be on the ballot,” Kennedy said, capturing the blatant hypocrisy of the party’s tactics.
As Democrats push to keep Kennedy’s name on the ballot, it’s clear their priority is not giving voters a real choice but rather ensuring Harris wins — even if it means manipulating the ballot to divide conservative voters.
