European leaders are set to convene in Paris Monday for urgent security discussions, as Trump’s recent Ukraine peace initiatives have spurred immediate action. The gathering, organized by French President Emmanuel Macron, comes at a critical moment.

The situation intensified after Trump unexpectedly initiated direct conversations about Russia’s invasion with Putin, catching both Ukraine and European allies off guard, as detailed in Breitbart News coverage.

European Union officials are now scrambling to align with Trump’s diplomatic moves while seeking sustainable peace solutions.

Adding to European concerns, the new American administration has signaled a potential strategic pivot toward China, suggesting Europe may no longer be its primary security focus.

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot told France Inter radio on Sunday, “The president will bring together the main European countries tomorrow for discussions on European security,” though he didn’t specify the participating nations.

According to a European diplomatic source who spoke with AFP, the Paris conference will include representatives from Britain, Germany, Poland, Italy, Denmark, along with NATO leader Marc Rutte and EU chief Ursula von der Leyen.

British sources indicate Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s likely attendance at the meeting.

The Kremlin is pushing for comprehensive negotiations, scheduled to begin in Saudi Arabia, addressing both the approaching third anniversary of the Ukraine conflict and broader European security concerns, as reported by AFP.
