Extraordinary 2024: Trump survives, Israel prevails, challenges remain

Listen To Story Above

The start of 2024 brought a series of extraordinary events that made it a truly exceptional year, overshadowing its challenges with remarkable triumphs.

A defining moment occurred on July 13 when an assassination attempt on President-elect Donald Trump unfolded in an inexplicable turn of events. While questions remain about the security breach that allowed the assailant such proximity to the stage, Trump’s instinctive head movement at the precise second spared him from what could have been a fatal shot, leaving him with only a minor graze. The incident, which tragically claimed the life of firefighter Corey Comperatore and injured several others, could have plunged the nation into chaos had the outcome been different. The enduring image of Trump rising with his fist raised became a powerful symbol of resilience.

November’s election brought another unprecedented development. While Trump’s victory wasn’t unexpected to those outside mainstream media circles, his achievement in securing the popular vote surprised many. Even more remarkable was the unexpected display of unity, with former adversaries extending olive branches.

Israel’s military campaign throughout the year demonstrated extraordinary resilience and success. From a challenging start when Hamas launched rockets and three escaped hostages were mistakenly killed by the IDF, Israel made remarkable progress. The military effectively neutralized Hamas, successfully freed multiple hostages, significantly weakened Hezbollah in Lebanon, disrupted Iran’s air defense capabilities, and witnessed the Syrian regime’s downfall. Currently, Israel continues its operations against Houthi rebels in Yemen while considering action against Iran’s nuclear program, though the rescue of remaining hostages remains a crucial priority.

Personal blessings also marked the year, including the September birth of my fourth child, conceived shortly after October 7, 2023. The delivery went smoothly, and my son is thriving. My professional achievements included publishing “**The Agenda: What Trump Should Do in His First 100 Days**” in August, along with releasing my collected works on Audible.

Looking ahead to 2025, significant challenges await. The incoming administration faces the complex task of managing inflation, traditionally requiring difficult economic measures. Immigration reform presents another major hurdle, particularly addressing the millions who entered illegally in recent years.

The Middle East’s evolving situation presents both diplomatic opportunities and new concerns, including the emergence of extremist elements threatening minority communities in post-Assad Syria. International tensions persist with the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict and China’s expanding global influence.

Fundamental issues like national debt, declining birth rates, and social isolation require thoughtful solutions. While we’ve chosen a president known for disruption, the responsibility of rebuilding falls to all of us.

As we welcome 2025, we might need more extraordinary developments to address these challenges, and there’s reason to believe such hopes won’t go unanswered.
