Nikki Glaser discussed her Golden Globes hosting compensation during a recent appearance on SiriusXM’s Howard Stern Show, revealing she earned less than her male predecessor for the 2025 ceremony.
While avoiding specific figures, Glaser expressed satisfaction with her payment, stating, “I got paid pretty — I’m good with that. There was a past host who said how much he got paid in his monologue and I got less than that, but that’s OK. I’ll get more next year.”

The 40-year-old comedian elaborated on her perspective about hosting the prestigious awards ceremony, emphasizing that financial compensation wasn’t her primary motivation. “This first year, when you’re just trying to prove yourself, I honestly would’ve done it for free,” Glaser explained. “It’s an insane platform to be on. It’s not about the money for me.”
The previous host she referenced was Jerrod Carmichael, who hosted the 2023 ceremony and openly disclosed his $500,000 payment during his opening monologue. Carmichael had shared this information while discussing his decision-making process about accepting the role, given the show’s controversial history regarding diversity.
Nikki Glaser crushed Golden Globe roast:
– “Ozempic’s biggest night!”
– “You’re all so famous and powerful. You can do anything, except tell the country who to vote for.”

Other Golden Globes hosts have been less forthcoming about their compensation. Ricky Gervais, a recurring host, told the Hollywood Reporter in 2020, “Yeah, of course [I’m paid well], but that’s not why I do it. I’ve got enough … money. I said to my agent, ‘I won’t do for money anything I wouldn’t do for free.’ He went, ‘Please don’t say that ever again.'”
Glaser’s hosting marked a significant milestone as she became the first solo female host in Golden Globes history. The comedian, who gained increased recognition following her memorable performance at “The Roast of Tom Brady,” delivered a well-received monologue that playfully targeted various celebrities, including Selena Gomez, Benny Blanco, Timothée Chalamet, Nicole Kidman, Ariana Grande, and Cynthia Erivo.
