Rep. Carlos Gimenez expressed strong approval for President Donald Trump’s immediate actions upon returning to the White House, while suggesting he would have taken even more extensive measures.
The Florida Republican emphasized his preference for a more comprehensive approach, indicating he would have nullified all of President Biden’s executive actions, describing Biden as the nation’s least effective president to date.
Trump’s initial executive action reversed 78 of Biden’s previous directives, spanning various policy areas including immigration, gender identity, DEI initiatives, and COVID-19 related measures.
🚨Thank you President Trump, for revoking Biden’s PATHETIC executive order!
Trump is the STRONGEST FRIEND our exile community has EVER had in the White House!
As the only Cuban-born Member of Congress, I know my community is ETERNALLY grateful!

“My biggest takeaway is that it’s a brand new day for America,” said Gimenez. “Our national nightmare is over because President Joe Biden is no longer president of the United States.”
The congressman praised Trump’s pragmatic approach, criticizing Biden’s leadership priorities. “Joe Biden obviously didn’t put America first,” Gimenez said. “He put America last.”
A particularly significant executive order for Gimenez, who holds the distinction of being Congress’s sole Cuban-born member, was Trump’s swift reinstatement of Cuba’s designation as a state sponsor of terrorism. This action reversed Biden’s January 14 decision to remove Cuba from the list, where Trump had originally placed it in 2021.

Gimenez criticized Biden’s inconsistency regarding Cuba policy, noting that despite previous assurances, Biden’s actions contradicted his words. “You never listen to what Joe Biden says,” Gimenez said. “You always watch what he does, and everything he does is against American interests.”
The congressman also addressed Biden’s eleventh-hour family pardons, suggesting they weren’t unexpected given what he described as questionable activities during Biden’s vice presidency.
Gimenez clarified that while the pardons protect against prosecution, they don’t prevent congressional investigations. “OK, that’s fine,” said Gimenez. “You’re pardoned. There’s nothing we can do about it. But America needs to know what happened. … History needs to know exactly what happened during these four years and [Biden’s] previous time as vice president.”
