Despite having no personal experience as a teenage girl or a Trump family member, one can imagine the unique challenges of being both – a reality that Kai Trump knows all too well.
The 17-year-old granddaughter of President-elect Donald Trump, and daughter of Don Jr., has been gaining increased attention following her well-received speech at the 2024 RNC. The future University of Miami golf recruit has established a growing YouTube presence, offering viewers intimate glimpses into her family’s life beyond politics.

In her latest YouTube Q&A session, Kai shared some candid moments about her relationship with her famous grandfather, including what she considers her most mortifying experience.
“My most embarrassing moment with my grandpa is, I brought one of my guy friends to play golf, and [Donald] goes like, ‘Oh my God, look, like, how handsome your boyfriend is,’ and all that. And I got so embarrassed because he [had] a girlfriend. That was just awkward. That was my most embarrassing moment ever.”
She began to share another uncomfortable story about introducing her grandfather to a potential love interest but quickly decided against it, stating, “We don’t have to talk about that.”
The young Trump appears to have inherited two notable characteristics from her grandfather. First, she shares his passion for golf, even expressing interest in a public match against him.

“I think we should do a match,” Kai said. “Straight up stroke play. I’ll challenge him on his home turf.”
When asked about their respective golfing abilities, she diplomatically answered “50/50,” noting that her response was made out of “respect” for her grandfather, who is known for his enthusiasm for the sport.
Additionally, Kai seems to have inherited her grandfather’s playful sense of humor. When reading a question from her father asking about his awesomeness, she quipped, “Um, he’s alright. I mean, I don’t know, he’s OK,” before quickly adding, “No, I love you a lot, dad.”
