Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign has ramped up its efforts to court Republican voters by showcasing endorsements from several well-known RINOs, including former GOP Reps. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois, Liz Cheney of Wyoming, and Jimmy McCain, son of the late Arizona Sen. John McCain.
These endorsements come as Harris aims to appeal to moderate Republicans and Independents who may be dissatisfied with President Donald Trump’s leadership. Kinzinger, Cheney, and McCain have all been vocal critics of Trump, making their support for Harris a notable shift in the political landscape.
“We are thrilled to see Vice President Harris’s message of freedom and patriotism resonate with voters across the aisle,” said campaign spokesperson Ian Sams. “Her commitment to upholding the Constitution appeals to Republicans who no longer feel represented by Trump’s leadership.”
Harris’s campaign has also launched a “Republicans for Harris” initiative, which includes hiring a National Republican Engagement Director to reach out to moderate Republicans and Independent voters.
In contrast, Trump has garnered endorsements from former Democrats such as Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard. Trump campaign spokesperson Karoline Leavitt downplayed the significance of the RINO endorsements, stating, “No conservative would support Kamala Harris, whose policies are far from what the GOP stands for.”
Harris’s campaign hopes these RINO endorsements will help sway Republican voters, but it remains to be seen how much of an impact they will have on the GOP base.
