A California school district is implementing new safety protocols after a group of 20 illegal aliens attempted to board a school bus as it was picking up students on Wednesday. This incident, occurring in the Jamul-Dulzura Union School District, is the second in just two days, raising serious concerns among parents and officials.
The day before, on Tuesday, three men tried to stop a school bus on Highway 94. The bus had to maneuver around them to continue its route. The following day, the situation escalated when 20 people attempted to board another bus at the same location. Parents at the scene intervened, ensuring that none of the illegal aliens were able to get on the bus.
In response, Superintendent Liz Bystedt sent a letter to parents announcing new safety procedures. To protect students and bus drivers, buses will now bypass stops where migrants are present and proceed directly to the next stop. Bystedt urged parents to stay alert and follow the bus to the next stop if it drives past their location.
Nicole Cardinale, a parent whose 8-year-old son was on the bus, expressed her fear after the incident. Her son reported that the adults trying to board the bus were carrying backpacks and appeared to be trying to gain access to the bus.
The San Diego Sheriff’s Office has begun an investigation into the incident to determine if any criminal acts were committed. Kimberly King, a spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Department, reassured the community that student safety is being taken very seriously and that they are working closely with the school district to ensure the protection of students.
These incidents underscore the need for increased security measures in areas near the border, where illegal immigration can pose a direct threat to the safety of schoolchildren.
