JD Vance: Bureaucratic Forces Could Undermine Trump’s Second Term

Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance warned this week that President Donald Trump’s 2024 victory could be severely obstructed by powerful bureaucratic forces in Washington, particularly within the military. Speaking with Tucker Carlson, Vance shared his confidence that Trump will win but voiced serious concerns about whether the establishment will let him govern effectively.

Vance expressed faith in Trump’s chances, noting that he’s likely to win either on Election Night or shortly afterward in a close race. However, Carlson pressed Vance on whether he believes the establishment would accept Trump’s return to the presidency. Vance admitted, “That’s what worries me.”

According to Vance, the biggest threat to democracy is not Trump’s legal challenges in 2020, but the disconnect between the D.C. establishment and the American public. He pointed to how Big Tech suppressed negative stories about Joe Biden in 2020 and expects similar tactics will be used again.

Carlson raised the question of military involvement, asking if the armed forces, now influenced by establishment elites, would accept Trump’s leadership. Vance agreed this is a serious concern, suggesting that Trump’s policy initiatives would likely be met with fierce resistance.

Vance anticipates that Trump’s plans to deport millions of illegal immigrants will be met with accusations of “fascism” by opponents seeking to block his agenda. He also mentioned financial forces, such as interest rates and the bond market, as potential tools to destabilize a Trump presidency.

Despite the obstacles, Vance remains hopeful. He noted that Kamala Harris’ poor performance in key swing states adds to his confidence that Trump will win, but he urged conservatives to remain vigilant in getting out the vote.
