Kirk’s speech came during a Q&A session at the convention, held just a month before the Republican National Convention. He stressed that the event’s purpose was to encourage attendees to engage in political action rather than just listen.
Kirk emphasized that the movement is larger than any single person, including Trump. He voiced concerns that the U.S. is drifting away from its constitutional foundations towards an oligarchy. “There is a small group of people, sometimes in both political parties, that continue to do things that are unpopular,” he said.
Kirk explained that Trump’s numerous legal battles are a result of his efforts to give a voice to ordinary Americans. “The reason why Donald Trump is facing 700 years in federal prison is because he has given you a voice,” he said, criticizing politicians for ignoring public opinion and pursuing failed policies.
The convention aimed to equip attendees with the tools to boost voter turnout and support conservative candidates. Kirk highlighted the importance of registering voters and ensuring they participate in elections. He warned that failing to mobilize these voters could result in another term for President Joe Biden, a statement that elicited boos from the crowd.
The event featured notable speakers, including Donald Trump, Vivek Ramaswamy, Steve Bannon, Jack Posobiec, and Lara Trump. Over 100 training sessions were offered, covering topics like election security and community organizing.
Kirk concluded with a powerful call to action, urging attendees to be proactive. “Duty is ours,” he said. “And the result is the Lord’s. We do our part, and we trust in God for the rest.”
