The mainstream media quickly launched into action with baseless accusations following Elon Musk’s appearance at Donald Trump’s Washington, DC rally. Within hours of Trump’s inauguration as the 47th president, these discredited outlets attempted to mislead the public by suggesting Musk performed Nazi salutes.
For those who witnessed the actual event at Capital One Arena, Musk’s actions were perfectly clear. He expressed gratitude to Trump supporters, stating, “I just want to say thank you for making it happen. Thank you.”
During this moment, he placed his hand on his chest before extending it outward toward the audience. He explicitly stated, “Thank you. My heart goes out to you. It is thanks to you that the future of civilization is assured, thanks to you.”
DO NOT BELIEVE THE MEDIA

Despite recently facing consequences in a defamation lawsuit, CNN personalities chose to present a misleading narrative by eliminating crucial context – specifically, omitting Musk’s verbal explanation about his heart gesture. Similarly, PBS, while receiving public funding, shared content suggesting Nazi symbolism without acknowledging Musk’s clear verbal statement about his intentions.
In response, Musk addressed these accusations on his X platform, stating “Frankly, they need better dirty tricks. The ‘everyone is Hitler’ attack is sooo tired,” accompanied by a sleeping emoji.
Various other outlets, including Time, The Atlantic, and Deadline, perpetuated this narrative despite its obvious flaws.
This gesture is commonly used in various contexts, though many might not realize this due to selective reporting. The mainstream media’s response appears to reflect their diminishing influence and desperate attempts to maintain relevance through manufactured controversies.

The contrast becomes particularly stark when considering recent events. While the media fixated on this manufactured controversy, they simultaneously downplayed genuine concerns about antisemitic demonstrations on elite university campuses supporting Hamas. The public can clearly distinguish between threatening calls for “intifada revolution” during Passover and a simple gesture of appreciation.
This incident joins a lengthy list of media fabrications, including:

The established media’s declining influence continues to manifest through such desperate attempts at manipulation.
