Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, recently disclosed her collaboration with renowned singer Billie Eilish to provide a touching gesture for a 15-year-old girl who lost her home during the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles. In a heartwarming Instagram Reel shared on Tuesday, Markle recounted her encounter with the teenager while visiting the fire-ravaged community of Altadena with her husband, Prince Harry.

“About two or three weeks ago, when my husband [Prince Harry] and I were in Altadena, we went to a community where all the homes were left in ashes,” Markle recalled. “This mom had found a couple things and as I was talking to her, I turned and looked and saw this young woman and I said, ‘Oh my gosh, how old are you?’ She’s 15. She lives there.”

The mother revealed to the former “Suits” actress that her daughter had been desperately searching for one particular item amidst the ashes of their destroyed home – a T-shirt from a recent Billie Eilish concert she had attended, which was left in the washing machine or dryer.

“All she’d been looking for in her home was the T-shirt from the Billie Eilish concert that she had just gone to, that she’d left in the washing machine or the dryer,” Markle explained. “And of course, they now see their home and the washing machine, the dryer are ash. They’re not there anymore.”

Moved by the young girl’s plight, the 43-year-old Duchess took action to help her regain a cherished memento from the concert.

“I thought of everybody I knew, and I made a voice note and I was like, ‘Please can someone get this voice note to Billie Eilish? Here’s what I’m asking.'”

Eilish, the 23-year-old “Bad Guy” singer, generously responded to the request and sent over several clothing items, including a signed vinyl record and a lunch box.

Markle expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Eilish, as well as Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine and his wife, Behati Prinsloo, for helping to facilitate the kind gesture.

“To everyone who has been showing up in big and small ways to get through what’s happened in California, just thank you so much,” she concluded.

Since the wildfires began on January 7th, Markle and Prince Harry, 40, have been actively involved in providing support and resources to aid recovery efforts. Last month, they partnered with José Andrés’ World Central Kitchen Foundation to serve meals to first responders and fire victims. Additionally, the royal couple was spotted distributing food and essential supplies to those affected at the Pasadena Convention Center.

Furthermore, the “With Love, Meghan” star donated clothes, beauty products, and lunches to adolescents impacted by the wildfires through the Altadena Teen Girls organization, exemplifying her dedication to supporting the community during this challenging time.
