Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced plans for President Donald Trump to implement executive orders that will eliminate diversity, equity, and inclusion policies from military operations and restore positions for service members who were dismissed for not taking COVID-19 vaccines.

During his first official day at the Pentagon following a close Senate confirmation vote, Hegseth informed the press about upcoming executive actions, stating, “There are more executive orders coming.”

The new Defense Secretary was welcomed at the Pentagon entrance by Air Force General C.Q. Brown, the highest-ranking U.S. military official, whom Hegseth had previously criticized in his recent publication. When questioned about the possibility of dismissing Brown, Hegseth made light of the situation by referencing the general’s nearby presence.
