Musk criticizes UK leader over child protection failures

Elon Musk, the tech magnate and incoming DOGE director, has once again engaged in political discourse by publicly criticizing the UK’s government leadership, particularly targeting Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

The controversy centers around Starmer’s handling of child grooming gangs during his tenure as Director of Public Prosecutions and his current leadership approach. Musk took to his social platform X to voice his concerns and criticisms.

In addition to challenging Starmer, Musk called for legal action against safeguarding minister Jess Phillips for her opposition to a public inquiry into historical child abuse cases in Oldham.

This confrontation marks the latest development in an ongoing dispute between Musk and the UK government, which initially sparked during last year’s summer unrest when Musk predicted inevitable civil conflict in the nation.

“In the UK, serious crimes such as rape require the Crown Prosecution Service’s approval for the police to charge suspects. Who was the head of the CPS when rape gangs were allowed to exploit young girls without facing justice? Keir Starmer, 2008 -2013,” Musk posted on X.

He continued: “Who is the boss of Jess Phillips right now? Keir Stamer. The real reason she’s refusing to investigate the rape gangs is that it would obviously lead to the blaming of Keir Stamer (head of the CPS at the time).”

The tech entrepreneur also advocated for the release of far-right activist Tommy Robinson, who received an 18-month prison sentence for contempt of court in October.

Musk’s criticism extended to Phillips, whose official title is Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Safeguarding and Violence Against Women and Girls, suggesting she should face imprisonment for her stance on the Oldham inquiry. Phillips had indicated that such investigations fall under local council jurisdiction rather than central government authority.

Former Conservative Prime Minister Liz Truss joined the discussion, posting: “This is Jess Phillips, the same Home Office minister who excused masked Islamist thugs. Her title ‘Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Safeguarding and Violence Against Women and Girls’ is a perversion of the English language. It’s clear whose side she is on.”

Musk’s response to Truss’s comment was direct: “She deserves to be in prison.”

Meanwhile, Starmer is working to build diplomatic ties with President-elect Donald Trump, despite previous criticism from both himself and his cabinet members.
