In her first day as Department of Homeland Security Secretary, Kristi Noem participated in immigration enforcement operations across New York City, accompanying federal agents during multiple raids, including one that resulted in the capture of an undocumented immigrant facing serious criminal charges.

During Tuesday’s early morning operations, Noem worked alongside teams from various federal agencies, including the DEA, Justice Department, ATF, and ICE units within DHS. The coordinated effort led to several enforcement actions throughout the city.

A significant arrest occurred in the Bronx, where authorities apprehended a member of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua. The suspect was reportedly connected to a recent incident involving the takeover of an apartment complex in Aurora, Colorado.

According to Gothamist, Secretary Noem was present for at least two separate raids during the morning’s operations.

The Senate confirmed Noem as DHS Secretary on Saturday with a vote of 59-34. She now joins border czar Tom Homan in spearheading President Trump’s initiative to address the immigration situation, specifically focusing on removing millions of undocumented immigrants who entered the country during the Biden administration.
