The Norwegian government has affirmed its commitment to continue providing fuel support to U.S. Naval vessels, following a local fuel supplier’s announcement to boycott American forces in response to the recent Trump-Zelensky White House incident.
Defense Minister Tore O. Sandvik issued a statement emphasizing that “We have seen reports raising concerns about support for US Navy vessels in Norway. This is not in line with the Norwegian government’s policy. I can confirm that all requested support has been provided.”
Sandvik further stated: “The U.S. and Norway maintain a close and strong defense cooperation. American forces will continue to receive the supply and support they require from Norway.”

The controversy emerged after Haltbakk Bunkers, a Norwegian marine fuel supplier, expressed outrage over President Trump’s treatment of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during their Oval Office meeting. The company posted on Facebook: “Huge credit to the president of Ukraine for restraining himself and for keeping calm even though the USA put on a backstabbing TV show.”
The post continued: “It made us sick. Short and sweet. As a result, we have decided to immediate STOP as fuel provider to American forces in Norway and their ships calling Norwegian ports. No Fuel to Americans! We encourage all Norwegians and Europeans to follow our example. SLAVA UKRAINA.”
Gunnar Gran, owner of Haltbakk Bunkers, acknowledged to Kystens news outlet that his company’s boycott was largely symbolic, noting their annual supply to American vessels was only about 3 million litres. Most U.S. naval vessels can store several million litres of fuel and have access to at-sea refueling options.
For all those saying Norway no longer fueling US Navy..
Oh yes they are, they know which side the bread is buttered on.

The incident prompted Republican Senator Mike Lee of Utah to suggest America’s withdrawal from NATO, stating “Europe doesn’t love us… Let’s leave NATO.” Meanwhile, Haltbakk Bunkers’ Facebook presence has disappeared, either through deletion or privacy settings changes.
