A viral video making rounds on social media platform X, purportedly showing a drone over New Jersey skies on December 15, 2024, has been proven to be misleading. The nighttime footage, which captured a mysterious aircraft and garnered more than 400,000 views, is actually a much older recording.

Research reveals the footage first appeared on YouTube in 2008, depicting what was labeled as a European Black Project Aircraft. The same viral video resurfaced in 2009 under the title “UFO Top Secret Black Project,” with commenters noting its repeated misuse in various false claims over the years.
The claim’s credibility is further undermined by the absence of any mainstream media coverage regarding drone sightings in New Jersey associated with this particular footage. A fact-check published by India Today on December 17, 2024, confirmed the video’s origins predate the alleged New Jersey sighting by more than 15 years.
