This is the kind of common-sense foreign policy that’s been missing for four long years.
When pressed about Trump’s supposed “controversial” territorial ambitions – like acquiring Greenland and the Panama Canal – Rubio didn’t flinch. He emphasized the strategic importance of Greenland in an era when the Arctic is becoming increasingly significant. And let’s be honest, China’s growing influence over the Panama Canal is a legitimate national security concern that Rubio has been sounding the alarm on for years. Remember when the media mocked Trump for talking about Greenland? Now even they have to admit he was thinking ten steps ahead on geopolitical chess while Biden can barely find the bathroom.
Evolving Positions on Russia and Ukraine
Rubio’s confirmation hearing also revealed his evolving stance on Russia and Ukraine. Once known as a Russia hawk, he’s now advocating for a negotiated settlement to end the conflict – a position that aligns with Trump’s repeated calls to stop the endless flow of American tax dollars into the war with no clear exit strategy. The left is already panicking that Rubio might “remove employees viewed as political enemies” from the State Department. Well, after watching the bureaucratic resistance sabotage Trump’s first term from within, I’d say a little housecleaning is long overdue. The State Department isn’t supposed to be a Democratic Party outpost running its own foreign policy. It’s about time someone reminds these career bureaucrats who they actually work for – the American people, not the globalist elite. With Rubio at the helm and Trump in the White House, America’s enemies are on notice and our allies can breathe a sigh of relief: the adults are back in charge.
