Russia has expressed willingness to explore peace initiatives regarding Ukraine, provided they align with Moscow’s interests and reflect current territorial realities, according to Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova’s Thursday statement.

“We are open to negotiations, we are ready to consider any realistic, non-politicized initiative – of course,” Zakharova said, adding that Russia would only consider a settlement “which was based on taking into account our interests.”

“I would like to emphasize once again: the key word is taking into account the interests of our country, the current situation on ground and guarantees of compliance with relevant agreements.”

Moscow’s diplomatic stance includes openness to discussing ceasefire arrangements with former U.S. President Donald Trump, as reported by Reuters. However, the Russian position remains firm on two key points: significant territorial concessions are off the table, and Ukraine must abandon its NATO membership aspirations.
