Sam Asghari is preparing for his debut on “The Traitors,” drawing from his experiences in Hollywood’s spotlight during his marriage to Britney Spears.

In an exclusive conversation, the 30-year-old actor reflected on how his time in the entertainment industry has shaped him. “I’ve learned a lot in the past five or six years being exposed to that (darker) side of Hollywood. And it’s quite a blessing,” he shared.

His Hollywood journey, particularly his relationship with the pop icon, served as valuable preparation for the show. “You have to be careful in every industry,” he noted. “Not just in Hollywood. You have to always be careful and protect yourself and protect the people that you love.”

During his marriage to Spears, Asghari stood firmly beside her through the “Free Britney” movement as she fought to end her 13-year conservatorship controlled by her father, Jamie Spears. “It’s a human rights movement,” he declared online before the conservatorship’s dissolution in November 2021.

“I think it’s the bare minimum you can do as a partner, to be a backbone to someone and to be their biggest supporter, biggest cheerleader, the biggest…the biggest everything,” he expressed.

Following their 2023 separation, Asghari has concentrated on his career while Spears has continued to generate concern among fans with her social media presence. On her 43rd birthday – when both were officially declared single – Spears made unusual claims about her age and relocation plans, which her representative later refuted.

When asked about current communication with Spears, Asghari maintains a respectful stance. “I just wish her the best,” he said. “I think that the number one factor of a partner is to be there for one another, no matter what.”

He emphasizes maintaining dignity post-breakup. “There’s never ever a need to take advantage of anybody,” he stated, expressing disapproval of couples who criticize each other after separation.

Their romance began on the set of Spears’ “Slumber Party” video in 2016. “It was the humbleness that attracted me,” he told GQ in 2022. “She was very humble and she has a beautiful soul.”

In “The Woman in Me,” Spears wrote about their initial connection: “The chemistry with us in the beginning was insane. We couldn’t keep our hands off each other. He called me his lioness.”

Their fairy-tale wedding in June 2022 at their Thousand Oaks home included celebrity guests like Madonna and Drew Barrymore. However, the marriage ended when Asghari filed for divorce in July 2023.

Reflecting on the split, Asghari acknowledges the challenges of major life changes. He credits his upbringing with three sisters for teaching him to handle relationships with sensitivity.

Recent months have seen Asghari linked to realtor Brooke Irvine, though he remains private about his personal life. His focus now lies on his acting career, including his role in “Lioness” and his upcoming appearance on “The Traitors.”

As he joins the reality show alongside celebrities like Dorinda Medley and Chrishell Stause, Asghari hopes viewers will see his authentic self. “I’m a very open hearted person and I’m a very easy going person… I’m simple, I like to be positive. I like to walk my dog, so it’s really not that hard to get to know me!”
