Lily Allen has taken steps towards healing by admitting herself to a treatment facility following her separation from David Harbour. The British singer addressed this development during her return to “Miss Me?” podcast, where she opened up about her recent experiences.

During her time at the facility, Allen engaged in both group and individual therapy sessions, focusing particularly on inner child work and shadow exploration. She expressed gratitude for the opportunity to step away from her daily life and focus on her mental health.

Now incorporating meditation and medication into her routine, Allen acknowledges that healing is an ongoing process. Her decision to seek treatment was largely influenced by her daughters, Marnie Rose, 12, and Ethel Mary, 13, whom she shares with former spouse Sam Cooper.

The singer emphasized her desire to be emotionally present for her children, noting that her ability to provide them with security had been compromised by her emotional state. Although challenging, she viewed her temporary separation from her daughters as necessary for their collective well-being.

“I absolutely adore my children and I’m in a situation now where I really have to be my strongest self for them,” she explained. “And I felt like it was getting harder and harder for me to be able to show up for them in the way that they need me to.”

Before entering treatment, Allen had been candid about her struggles, sharing on her podcast, “I’m finding it hard to be interested in anything. I’m really not in a good place. I know I’ve been talking about it for months, but I’ve been spiraling and spiraling. It’s got out of control. I’ve tried.”

Reports indicate that Allen stayed at a $10,000-per-week trauma center without access to television or phones. This development coincided with the end of her four-year marriage to “Stranger Things” actor David Harbour, 49, whom she had married in 2020 after meeting through the dating app Raya.

While Allen maintains she’s still working towards complete recovery, she feels more equipped to handle life’s challenges. “I’m not saying I’m 100% there and I’m not saying that I’m getting it 100% right or ever will but I’m definitely in a stronger place,” she affirmed.
