Thieves steal military vehicles and gear from Army base

No one is immune to criminal activities in California, not even the United States military forces. A shocking incident occurred earlier this week when the local police reported the theft of three Humvees and other military equipment from an Army Reserve Center located in Tustin, California.

The brazen criminals did not stop there; they also attempted to break into an area where military uniforms are stored, but fortunately, their efforts were unsuccessful.

The Tustin Police Department issued a statement revealing the details of the incident, stating, “On Wednesday, January 8, 2025, between 8pm and 1130pm, unknown suspects gained entry into a storage warehouse at the Army Reserve Center in Tustin. Multiple storage lockers were discovered with the locks removed and gear missing.”

The statement further added, “An attempt was made to cut a lock to uniform storage, however, it was unsuccessful.”

“A fence was cut to gain access to a military vehicle parking lot where three Humvees were stolen. The suspects left the area at an unknown time.”

“The Army has informed us there is no known loss of weapons or ammunition other than what is listed in the above flyer.”

The following items were confirmed as missing:

– 3 Humvees (1 armored) with the admin numbers listed below painted on the hood:

* Cloth Doors Humvee Model: M1097 ADMIN: HQ-61 419CSSB
* Cloth Doors Humvee Model: M1097 ADMIN: HQ-81 H007
– 8 machine gun vehicle mounts
– 7 free-standing machine gun tripods
– Medical equipment
– 40 pairs of binoculars
– 18 bayonets

As of now, no suspects have been identified in connection with this audacious heist.
