A TikTok content creator identifying as transgender has gained attention for spending $17,000 on a surgical procedure to remove six ribs, with plans to transform them into a decorative crown.

The 27-year-old social media personality from Kansas City, known online as “Emily James,” a biological male who presents as female, shared details about the unconventional procedure.

“I plan on having someone make a crown out of them,” James told Caters News. “They let me keep the ribs and I was initially going to gift them to my best friend.”

The influencer has been documenting the surgical experience and recovery journey on TikTok. The primary motivation behind the procedure was to achieve a more feminine silhouette by reducing waist size.

In their social media content, James made light-hearted references to consuming the removed bones. Prior to the surgery, they posted, “In three days I’m getting three ribs removed on each side,” adding, “I’m going to have an Emily barbeque.”

“I’ve had people say they would make them into a chew toy or boil them down into broth,” James said. “Personally, I think my meat would taste delicious.”

However, James later clarified that consuming the ribs wasn’t a serious consideration. “Eating human meat can cause a plethora of disorders that are fatal,” they explained. “So, I will not be partaking in cannibalism thank you.”

Drawing parallels to other cosmetic procedures, James defended the decision by comparing it to buttock enhancement surgeries, stating, “It is my money, my body and I’m going to do what I want with it.”
