During a New York Young Republican Club gala, Trump campaign adviser Alex Bruesewitz experienced a frightening moment when he collapsed at the podium while speaking, taking the lectern down with him as he fell.

The incident occurred as Bruesewitz was introducing incoming White House senior aide Dan Scavino at a Manhattan venue. His speech became noticeably slurred before he suddenly lost consciousness in front of hundreds of concerned attendees, prompting immediate assistance from those nearby.

Raheem Kassam, the master of ceremonies and former aide to British conservative Nigel Farage, later assured the crowd about Bruesewitz’s condition. “I talked to our friend Alex Bruesewitz and you know what he said to me? He goes ‘Did I at least look cool?’ I said Alex you used gravity like I’ve seen nobody use gravity before in their lives,” Kassam shared. “But he’s recuperating back there so give him a big cheer so he’ll hear you.”

President-elect Trump called in afterward to express support for his adviser. “I know that Alex is going to be fine because he’s a tough son of a gun,” Trump said over the phone. “There’s no doubt about that. So I want to say hello to Alex, because he’s a very special guy.”

Bruesewitz, who leads X Strategies LLC, has made a name for himself working to support America First candidates. “Bruesewitz has been the driving force behind the efforts to defeat Republicans who fight against Trump and the MAGA movement and works to replace them with Republicans who fight for values we hold dear,” according to his company’s website.

Before the incident, Bruesewitz appeared normal, praising the New York Republican Club’s support for Trump and acknowledging various supporters, including former Florida congressman Matt Gaetz. The black-tie gathering at Cipriani Wall Street featured notable speakers such as Farage, Scavino, Steve Bannon, and Corey Lewandowski.
