Ukraine has good reason to be skeptical of Russia’s intentions. They’ve accused Moscow of violating its own previous ceasefire over 734 times, calling Russia’s peace overtures a “farce.” When one side has repeatedly demonstrated it can’t be trusted to honor agreements, you need a stronger hand at the table than what we’ve seen from the current administration.
