Bruce Lou, a 27-year-old Republican from San Francisco, emerged victorious in the primary election, securing his position to challenge Democratic powerhouse Nancy Pelosi in the General Election for the U.S. House of Representatives. Lou’s impressive victory came after defeating six primary opponents, including several Democrats.
In an exclusive conversation with The Gateway Pundit, Lou discussed the significance of his primary win. “In the Primary, there were actually four Democrats and four Republicans running here in San Francisco—a district with the lowest Republican registration in the United States, hovering around 7%,” Lou said. “From the start of the campaign, we worked as though nothing was given. When you don’t expect anything, and then you get a result like ours, it is a tremendous victory.”

The young entrepreneur’s performance in the primary was remarkable, securing almost double the votes of Democrat Marjorie Mikels, who finished third. His vote total nearly matched the combined votes of his bottom four primary opponents.
Lou’s campaign received substantial backing from various Republican organizations. “I was endorsed by Bay Area Homeowners; I was endorsed by Senator Rand Paul; I was endorsed by [Assistant Attorney General] Harmeet Dhillon,” he noted. “But elections are not won on endorsements; they are won by engaging with voters.”
His general election performance was equally noteworthy, garnering over 64,000 votes and securing 19% of the vote in a district with only 7% Republican registration. However, Lou expressed disappointment at Pelosi’s refusal to engage in debate.
“We very much would have liked to debate Nancy Pelosi, but of course, she refused to debate me. She feels this seat belongs to her – that she is unassailable,” Lou stated. “This is common to a lot of the Democrat establishment, the Democrat elite. They refuse to engage in good faith debate because they feel like, ‘Why should they lower themselves to our position of the common people?'”
Lou criticized Pelosi’s recent political maneuvers, particularly regarding President Biden’s situation. “Nancy Pelosi had an outsized influence doing backroom deals to influence the election; she was the one who pushed Joe Biden out; she launched a backroom coup against Joe Biden to force him out of the race and install Kamala Harris – a puppet,” he said.

The San Francisco Republican also revealed insights about Pelosi’s succession strategy, suggesting she plans to pass the torch to her daughter. “Nancy wants a political successor, and the person that she has in mind is her daughter, Christine Pelosi. Christine has been building up her influence in the Democrat party for quite a few years; quietly building up internal political capital in order to prepare herself for her run. Nancy figured she would keep the seat warm until next term when her daughter, Christine, can swoop in and win the seat,” Lou explained.
Lou positioned himself as a champion for everyday citizens, stating, “I represent the opposite [of Pelosi]; I put my constituents first; I listen to their concerns even when they disagree with me. I am a man of the people, and I listen to the people. Nancy Pelosi is an elite; I doubt she knows how much gas and groceries cost.”
As Lou appears poised to become a prominent figure in California politics, he emphasized his commitment to fighting corruption and serving his constituents. “I am dedicated to providing positive change to the people of San Francisco and the people of the United States,” he affirmed. “[I am] dedicated to fighting the corruption that has infected our politics.”
